Defending Champions India Cricket Team defend their title of Champions Trophy in UK Next month and for that BCCI has been announced the 15 Men Squad of India Cricket Team for Champions Trophy 2017.

Men in Blue India will be starting the campaign of the Champions Trophy by playing against Pakistan on 4th June at Edgbaston.


Indian cricket team: Virat Kohli (captain), Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan, Ajinkya rahane, Yuvraj Singh, Kedar Jadhav, MS Dhoni, Hardik Pandya, Ravindra Jadeja, Ravichandran ashwin, Jasprit Bumrah, Umesh Yadav, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Manish Pandey, Mohammed Shami

If we look at the squad of above Men in Blue for the 2017 Champions Trophy ODI tournament then Virat Kohli leading the Indian Side. Manish Pandey Who is currently playing from the Kolkata Knight Riders team in the IPL 2017 are included in the final 15 players list. Pandey who recently played for the India team on 2016 October Month against New Zealand.

BCCI selection committee also include Mohammed Shami in the Champions Trophy team squad who has played last odi in world cup semi final in Australia 2015.

“We considered Rishabh Pant, Kuldeep Yadav, Suresh Raina, Dinesh Karthik and Shardul Thakur. They are in our standby list for the ICC Champions Trophy. We discussed Kuldeep. He narrowly missed out, but has a big role to play in future. Jasprit Bumrah and Hardik Pandya are youngsters we’ve been grooming. We’re extremely pleased with Rishabh and will groom him too,” said chief selector MSK Prasad.

Another players who return to India Squad for the Champions Trophy Cricket 2017 will be Rohit Sharma, who is leading Mumbai Indians franchise in the IPL, is back in the Indian ODI team. Rohit Sharma, who was part of the 2013 ICC Champions Trophy winning squad, missed a lot of international cricket due to a thigh surgery.

India Open Champions Trophy against Pakistan

Virat Kohli & Co. will open their champions trophy campaign against Pakistan on 4th June. Then after India play sri lanka on 8th June and Third and last group stage game India to play South africa on 11th June.

India team will prepare for the champions trophy 2017 with two warm up game. In the First warm up India to played New zealand on 28th May sunday while second practice game India to played Bangladesh on 30th May Tuesday.
